Let’s Have a Closer Look at the Crest Cycling Club

  • Nov 24, 2020

Crest, a cycling club based on the border between Essex and East London, has a large membership spread out across Essex, East London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire. If you are into your cycling and are close to them, feel free to go and talk to them about joining their club - they do not discriminate, everyone is welcome at Crest Cycling Club, no matter your age, gender, or cycling capabilities.

About Crest Cycling Club

Crest Cycling Club was formed back in 1932 but originally in Ilford, and you can easily distinguish their kits (maroon, white, and green) from other cycling clubs. While other cycling clubs focus mainly on racing events, this club focuses more on the social aspect of cycling. They are a social and friendly club that can offer something to those of all abilities. If you are into cycling and are looking to make some new friends, then you will be doing yourself a huge favour if you decide to go and join Crest Cycling Club.

The club holds training and social rides on Saturdays and each Sunday there is a Sunday club run. To add to these, there are also frequent track sessions and trips to take part in Sportives, challenge rides, and Audaxes. Crest Cycling Club is a sister of Metro BMX. They also run a number of tours throughout the course of the year. Whether you prefer off-road, on-road, or track cycling, you will be able to get your fill at Crest. Although they like to focus on the social side of cycling, they are competitive as well and their members have enjoyed success at both local and national competitions.

On the first Wednesday of every month, there is a club night organised at the Silverthorn Bowls Club in Chingford. To add to this, there is also a monthly meet up at the George pub, which is in Wanstead. These nights are extremely fun, and you will look forward to them each month.
